LIVE SHOW DISPATCH: Whatever else happens, this shall be the FINAL show of the year, because it is mere days before the year ends. What better way to wrap up 2013 than joining us as we perform in DALLAS at the lovely and intimate CITY TAVERN downtown, where we will enjoy GREAT FOOD and GREAT DRINK and GREAT INDIE ROCK sharing the stage with three other fantastic bands – SVENNY BABY, SUNBURNT, and CATERPILLARS. The correct answer is THERE IS NO BETTER WAY to wrap up the year. So please make efforts, Dallas friends, to join us for this blowout time of awesomeness. This show is MERELY $5 and shall begin at 8:00 PM. We shall play at 10:00. Your attendance is requested. THAT IS ALL.
Hey all! We’ve got a show tonight that we’d love to see you at, if you’re around Fort Worth.
At Shipping & Receiving tonight, come see us along with New York band Wild Adriatic and local opener Jacob Furr. It’s going to be a great night of music, and it’s just $5 to get in. Jacob plays at 9:00, Wild Adriatic at 10:00, and us at 11:00.
Shipping & Receiving is at 201 South Calhoun, at the corner of Calhoun & Daggett just east of South Main in the Near Southside. It’s got great drinks, fantastic atmosphere, an excellent sound system, and shuffleboard! See you tonight!
Just a quick update on things here in Diabolical Machines Land…
Last Thursday’s show at the Grotto was a lot of fun – a big thanks to the folks who came out, and to the other bands (Lydia’s Libido, Svenny Baby, A House for Lions, and Royal Savages) for being awesome. Great night of rock in FW.
Over the weekend, we headed to the studio of our friends in the band Missing Sibling (you may recall them from the show we played together in Dallas not long ago), and recorded two new songs for inclusion on a really cool compilation that they’re putting together. More details about that when it’s closer to being finished.
We can’t wait for you to hear the new songs, because they give a taste of the sound we’re going for on our next recorded project for 2014, which we’re hoping to have put together in time for a series of shows we’re planning all around Texas and Oklahoma in the spring. More details about those once we get closer!
In the nearer future, we’re planning a few shows in December that should be really fun. And now, we’ll leave you with a few photos taken at the recording studio this weekend.
Heads up! Due to a scheduling situation at the original venue, our show on Thursday the 17th of this month is now at one of our favorite places – The Grotto, at 517 University Drive here in Fort Worth. All else is the same – it’s us headlining, and also features the greatness of Royal Savages, House of Lions (from the UK), and Svenny Baby. Be there!
Strike that last post – besides our show on October 17, we’re doing the Beach Boys thing again on October 12! Lola’s in Fort Worth is hosting the Fort Worth Rock Assembly Redux, a reunion of some of us Rock Assembly bands plus a newcomer.
The Rock Assembly Redux features:
We the Sea Lions performing The Cure
Panic Volcanic performing Deep Purple
Lindby performing David Bowie
Us performing The Beach Boys
Bomb Atomic – their cover subject TBA
Doors open at 7:00, show starts at 8:00. $8 for 21 & up, $10 under 21.
Hey y’all! We had a GREAT time this last weekend at Shipping & Receiving in Fort Worth and City Tavern in Dallas. Thanks to everybody who came out to see us!
We’ll have more details soon, but we just wanted to let you know that our next show will be on Thursday, October 17, at Lola’s in Fort Worth. We’ll be headlining, and the other bands on the bill are Royal Savages, Svenny Baby, and House of Lions, who are coming all the way from the UK. It should be a blast!
More info to come soon.
It’s a D/FW mini-tour – two shows this week! Show #1: we’re in Fort Worth this Friday, at the brand-new Shipping & Receiving bar just off South Main in the Near Southside. Not only will you be getting us, but you’ll also be getting our BFFs Lindby, making it one heck of a fun night of Fort Worth indie pop/rock. Doors open at 8:00, and guess what – there’s NO COVER! It’s cheap as free! Great excuse to catch our brands of tunes and check out a super-cool new venue. We play first, then Lindby.
Show #2 this week: on Saturday, we’re in Dallas at City Tavern, in the heart of downtown, for a really cool show presented by The Artist Collective. Things kick off with an acoustic set by Robbie Saunders, then it’s us, and the night closes out with the always-awesome Missing Sibling. It’s going to be a great night of indie music right in the heart of Big D! Get there at 9:00 PM. It’s just $5 to get in, and City Tavern has great food and drink!
We’ve been teasing this for a while, and now that the festival has announced it we can reveal it here: this Friday, we’re performing in the Fort Worth Rock Assembly, a huge three-day 30-band festival here in Fort Worth where every band has selected a vintage rock band to cover.
We’re doing The Beach Boys.
So, come on out to J&J Blues Bar this Friday – we’re performing on the inside stage at 6:00 PM. And we’re just one part of this amazing lineup.
Here’s the Facebook event for your RSVP-ing pleasure. It’s $10 for a one day pass, or $25 for all three days.
Really excited about this one – this Saturday, we’re performing at the Live Oak Music Hall for the first time ever! The Live Oak is located on Lipscomb, just north of Magnolia Avenue in Fort Worth’s Near Southside.
Besides being our first time at this swanky venue, we’re part of a great lineup of music for the night – besides us, you’ll also be getting ALAN, We the Sea Lions, and Katsük! Doors open at 8:00 and the show starts at 9:00. The show is ALL AGES – $10 for 21 & up, $15 under 21.
Can’t wait to hit the Live Oak – see you there!
Hey hey – we’re back in our hometown tonight, with a show at the Pour House in Fort Worth on West 7th Street! We’re playing tonight with Trailer Park Princess (which means we get to hang out with our original drummer, Jackie, once again!) and The Frisky Disco.
The fun starts at 9:00 with Trailer Park Princess, then us, then Frisky Disco. And best of all, there’s NO COVER! So c’mon out and have a good time with us! Here’s a Facebook event for RSVP-ing.
