We are very proud to present you with our debut studio recording – the Drag You Away EP. You can now stream & download it on our Bandcamp page. It’s $4, and it includes bonus tracks and a PDF booklet!
The schedule for the 2013 Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards Festival is out, and we’re happy to reveal that we’re a part of it – we’ll be performing at the famed Fred’s Texas Cafe, at 4:00 PM. (We’ll be followed by Mills & Co., Jacob Furr & The Only Road, Kevin Aldridge & The Appraisers, Clint Niosi & The Unaccountable, and Derek Larson & The Leavers.)
Admission is FREE, and the Weekly’s Music Awards compilation CD will be on sale for just $5, with proceeds going to the Tarrant Area Food Bank. The CD features 18 tracks by local artists nominated for awards, including our song “Between Brownstones.”
We made a little music video for our song “Between Brownstones,” appearing on the upcoming 2013 Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards CD. Here it is!
More big news – we’ve got the go-ahead to share a NEW SONG with you! Give a listen to “Between Brownstones,” recorded live in-studio for the 2013 Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards compilation CD! And it’s a free download!
Copies of the 18-track-long disc will be available on Sunday, June 23, at the 11th Annual Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards Festival, taking place at eight venues in the West 7th corridor and featuring 48 bands, all from Fort Worth (or thereabouts). Admission is free, and copies of the disc will be five dollars, with proceeds going toward this year’s charity sponsor, the Tarrant Area Food Bank.
Big-time news! Yesterday, we completed the recording sessions for our debut full-band studio EP, Drag You Away. The four-track EP now goes into the mixing and mastering phase of its creation, with mixing handled by producer/engineer Britt Robisheaux and final mastering by engineer Carl Saff.
We are super excited about the Drag You Away EP, as it’s the first time we’ve gotten the new lineup into a real recording studio and done it up right. We cannot wait for you to hear the EP! In the meantime, Kevin took a collection of photos over the last two days documenting the recording process, and we’ll share them here. Click the thumbnails for a larger view:
The Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards ballot is now online, and we’re up for TWO awards this year!
We’ve been nominated for Best New Artist and Best Female Vocalist for Harley, and we couldn’t be more excited or honored. Now, the voting begins, and we need YOUR help! It’s time to start heading to the Weekly’s online ballot and vote!
So, head on over to the ballot site and vote for us in the following categories:
- “New Artist” category: The Diabolical Machines
- “Female Vocalist” category: Harley Dear (The Diabolical Machines)
Once you’re done, spread the word and get your friends/family/co-workers/sentient space pets to vote, too! Every vote helps!
And thank you to all of you who have supported us thus far – we wouldn’t be here without our fans!
Big news, fan folks!
- We’ve been nominated for a Fort Worth Weekly Music Award! The ballot comes out on the 15th, at which point we need all of you to vote for us!
- As part of this nomination, we’re appearing on this year’s Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards compilation CD, along with several other nominated bands. We recorded our song today at Eagle Audio Recording in the Near Southside, under the direction of engineer Britt Robisheaux of The Theater Fire.
- AND, we’ve been asked to perform at the Fort Worth Weekly Music Awards festival on Sunday, June 23rd! The exact time & location will be announced later.
These are all big honors and we are very excited to be nominated for an award and asked to participate in all these various things. Big things ahead!
As mentioned above, we recorded our song for the FW Weekly CD today at Eagle Audio. Kevin took some photos of the whole thing (on a combination of an iPhone and a big camera), and we’d like to share ‘em with you:
It’s been a long while in the planning, and it’s had to get over some delay and other issues, but we’re happy to announce that we’re headed to the studio to record our debut EP next month. The EP will be recorded in Fort Worth’s Near Southside, and will be recorded & produced with vintage equipment by Britt Robisheaux of The Theater Fire/Drug Mountain/Most Efficient Women fame.
We’re really excited to finally be getting this done, and can’t wait for everybody to hear the results. We’re still working on finalized art and a title, so in the meantime please enjoy the design above, which will be used on some new stickers and buttons coming out in the not-too-distant future.
We’ve got a show tomorrow night (Saturday the 13th)! We’re playing at The Grotto with our pals Lindby and the awesome Missing Sibling. The fun starts at 10:00 PM with Lindby, then us, then Missing Sibling. It’s just $5, so you’d better be there if you like great indie rock! It’s going to be a blast, and there’s some surprises that’ll be happening! So be there! EXCLAMATION MARKS!
The first Cowtown Cleanup Fest was a lot of fun! We had a great time performing and getting to see fellow bands Tim Platt & All That Is Beautiful and Big City Folk. Keep Fort Worth Funky posted the video above, which contains bits of all of our performances.
